Bryan Campbell (dancer)

Bryan Campbell is an American artist living in Paris. Since 2008, he has developed a  body of multi-disciplinary work that mixes image, graphic design, text, and choreography to deal in the bodies and cognitions that are implicated in and created by visual culture. After studies at New York University's Tisch School of the Arts, he took part in ex.e.r.ce, a research program at the CCN de Montpellier. While there, a period of research into the animated series My Little Pony gave rise to “Research for the quadruped protagonist" (2010), later presented at Théâtre de la Cité Internationale (Paris), Beursschouwburg (Brussels), Judson Church (New York), and elsewhere. Meanwhile, he performed with Loïc Touzé, Jana Unmüßig, and Emmanuelle Huynh, among others. He received a research grant from the NRW Kultursekretariat (Wuppertal) in 2011, as well as the DanceWEB scholarship in 2013. In 2015, Bryan premiered “MARVELOUS", a performance and magazine presented at PACT (Essen), Kaaistudios (Brussels), Artdanthé (Vanves), Actoral (Marseille), and Latitudes Contemporaines (Lille). He  has recently danced in work by DD Dorvillier, Gaëtan Rusquet, and Antonija Livingstone & Jennifer Lacey, as well as the recreations of “Les Inconsolés" by Alain Buffard and “Sorry! Do the Tour" by Marco Berrettini.
