David Parker (dancer)

David Parker is the artistic director of The Bang Group, a company known for its smart, funny dances in which the musical accompaniment is often provided by the dancing itself.  TBG has had six full-evening programs presented by Dance Theater Workshop, two at Danspace Project and several by dancenowNYC.  TBG tours widely throughout the United States and Europe.  Parker’s Show Down, based on Irving Berlin’s Annie Get Your Gun, will return by popular demand to Joe’s Pub in June.  Parker just turned 50 and is delighted by his second career as a dancer with Doug Elkins, Sara Rudner, New York Theater Ballet, Sara Hook, Lorraine Chapman, Fiona Marcotty, Catherine Tharin and now, Christopher Williams.  He also produces the work of other choreographers at the West End Theater on Manhattan’s upper west side.  He will present a new full-length work in March 2010 as part of Weave at Symphony Space.
